When I made my album COLTON, I wasn’t just making music...I was putting my life into sound. The album tells the story of who I am, what I’ve walked through, and how Jesus carried me through it all. Every song came from a real place, so it only made sense that the merch I created from it would come from the same heart.
I wanted the merch to feel like more than just clothing. I wanted it to feel like a visual extension of the album. Something that carried the same darkness, beauty, and hope that lives in the music. The album became the foundation, and the merch became another way to tell the story.
Turning the Story Into Wearable Art
The biggest inspiration behind the merch was the idea that my testimony should be visible. Since COLTON is so personal, I wanted the designs to reflect both my journey and God’s presence in it. That meant creating pieces that felt emotional, cinematic, and faith-based, instead of flashy or overly commercial.
I kept coming back to a darker aesthetic, but one that still feels hopeful. That balance matters to me because my story is not just about pain. It’s about redemption. The merch needed to hold both sides of that truth.
Why Jesus Stays at the Center
Even though the album carries my name, the message behind it is bigger than me. I wanted the merch to point people toward Jesus first, while still connecting them to my story as the artist. That means the designs are not about self-promotion alone, they’re about witness, healing, and faith.
The most meaningful merch ideas came from that mindset. Hoodies, joggers, and graphics can all carry the mood of the album while keeping Jesus at the center. That’s what makes the merch feel honest to the music and meaningful to the people who wear it.
The Visual Style
The visual direction for the merch came from the same world as the album: dark, cinematic, painterly, romantic, and emotionally charged. I wanted the graphics to feel like a story, not just a logo. The use of my face, my clothing style, and imagery of Jesus all help tie the merch back to both my identity and my faith.
That style creates something more personal than standard artist merch. It feels like a piece of my testimony you can actually wear. It also helps the merch stand out because it doesn’t just sell a brand, it tells a story.
More Than Merch
At the end of the day, COLTON is about more than an album and more than merch. It’s about what God has done in my life, and how I can use creativity to share that with other people. The merch is just one more way to carry that message into the world.
If someone wears it, I want them to feel the same thing the album carries: pain that was not wasted, darkness that was not final, and hope that came through Jesus. That’s what inspired the merch, and that’s what I want it to represent.
